Entering the Mission Field
Banner
The banner, "Entering the
Mission Field" is one of several banners created in 2006 by
the elementary/pre-school Sunday School students as a
response to the Christmas Story. The Mission banner and
other banners, "Jesus Came As A Gift for Us" "So We Can Be
Gifts For Each Other", were springboards for conversation
regarding our invitation as Christians to share God's gift
of grace and salvation with those outside our church doors.
After displaying the banner at the 2006 family Christmas Eve
service, we hung the banner over the doors to the gathering
space as a reminder to all who leave. We come together as a
faith community to be nurtured by Word and Sacrament to be
sent out as disciples of Christ to the world.
