Family Choir

Matins Choir

Grades 6-12.  The Matins Choir sings choral music in a variety of styles geared toward this particular age group, while learning the techniques required to sing more challenging literature in the future.  (Tim Koch, Director)

Junior Choir

Grades 3-5.  This choir sings anthems written for this age group, and begins the process of reading music and learning various choral techniques.
(Amy Koch, Director)

Cherub Choir

Kindergarten - Grade 2.  Since many of these children are still unable to read well, much of the music and vocal techniques are taught by rote.
(Amy Koch, Director)

No requirements for the younger choirs except a
commitment to attendance at rehearsals.

Handbell Choirs

Adult Handbell Choir

Rhythmic proficiency required.

Youth Handbell Choir

Grades 6-12.  Rhythmic proficiency required.

Children's Handbell Choir

Grades 3-5.  Rhythmic proficiency helpful, but not required.

A commitment to attendance at rehearsals is absolutely mandatory.

Nave Organ

The console (keyboard) of the recently rebuilt nave organ was built by hand in a small factory in Georgia and designed especially for this church.  There is none other exactly like it in the world.  The console is connected electronically to 75 ranks or 4,260  “speaking voices” - most of which are pipes, some of which are digital - in the “chambers” located above the choir lofts and in the rear balcony.

The pipe organ is the only instrument in history to be designed with the primary goal of leading God’s people in worship.  The organ is well suited to leading hymn singing because it has breath like the human voice; its sustained and sonorous quality inspires hearty singing.  The organ imparts majesty, grandeur and solemnity like no other instrument in the worship of Almighty God.

World-renowned organists such as Virgil Fox, Diane Bish, Joyce Jones, Peter Richard Conte, David Higgs, Carol Williams, Marilyn Mason and Flor Peeters have given concerts right here in our sanctuary.

Traditional Service Instrumentalists

The traditional services frequently use instruments in a solo or ensemble setting: (i.e. oboe, flute, harp, strings, percussion, bells, brass, etc...) Contact Tim Koch.

Trinity Youth Strings

This group is open to children and youth who are currently playing string instruments. They must have completed at least one year of study. Sara Schmehl conducts this group who play two or three times a year.

Traditional Service Summer Soloists and Ensembles

While the younger choirs break for the summer, soloists and ensembles are needed for the services.

Carilloneurs

People of all ages who take turns playing Trinity's carillon before the 11:00 AM service.

Monthly Art Displays

Displays by local artists and a yearly members Art Show. (Contact current Arts Chairperson if interested).

Concert Series

Concerts on a regular basis from September through May featuring  nationally and internationally known musicians as well as Trinity’s own musical ensembles.

Arts Committee

This committee assists the Director of Music in implementing and running the multifaceted ministry of music at Trinity.

Some interesting facts about music at Trinity!!!

Approximately 150 people regularly participate in the music ministry of Trinity Lutheran Church.

The Concert Series engages artists of national and international renown and is funded exclusively by “Patrons” who contribute financially once a year in our fall “Patrons Drive”.  Offerings received at concerts also help to further offset the costs.

Trinity employs one full-time and two part-time staff persons to administer the music program.  They are assisted by numerous volunteers.

Trinity uses the new Evangelical Lutheran Worship (2006) as its primary worship resource for liturgy and hymns at its Traditional and Saturday Evening Services.
