Executive Committee
The
Executive Committee consists of the President, Vice President
and Secretary of the Congregation Council, the chairs of the
Administration and Personnel, Church Property and the Finance Committees and the
Senior Pastor.
Between meetings of the Congregation Council, the Executive
Committee has all of the authority of the Congregation Council,
with the exception of borrowing money. The Executive
Committee is periodically called upon to act in place of the
Congregation Council between meetings of the Council when
routine actions are required that are time sensitive or when it
is impractical or impossible to convene the entire Council.
Administration and Personnel Committee
Our mission: The mission of the Administration
and Personnel Committee is to enable pastoral, program and
support staff members to employ their gifts enabling Trinity to
pursue its ministry and mission. The committee's chief
concern is to enhance and enable the staff in the development of
their gifts and to strive to provide a Christian environment in
which they serve."
The Administration
and Personnel (A&P) Committee is the Human Resources Department
of the Church and is involved in all employment areas - salary,
health insurance, pension - for both the rostered staff and lay
employees.
The Committee is also responsible for administering, reviewing
and updating the policies and procedures that guide the
congregation.
Arts
Committee
Our mission:
We, as musicians and artists are
passionate about sharing expressions of God’s gifts. Through
ongoing events and exhibitions, we hope to celebrate these
wonders of God with the congregation and community.
The Arts committee is
responsible for helping to spread the Gospel through music
and art. The committee assists the Director of Music
Ministries with the yearly concert series and arranges for
monthly art exhibits in the Gathering Space. The committee
also oversees the maintenance of all the permanent artwork
in addition to being the curators.
Church
Property Committee
Our mission:
We the volunteer members of the
congregation of Trinity Lutheran Church (Property Committee)
will maintain and provide facilities and equipment for the
multiple activities of the church. We will endeavor to allow
people to comfortably and safely gather together on a daily
basis to learn, join in fellowship, and worship our Lord Jesus
Christ on their journey in discipleship.
The
Church Property Committee is responsible for the proper care,
protection and maintenance of the church property. The
committee not only oversees the immediate needs of the property
and buildings, but also maintains a long range plan of major
capital improvements and maintenance requirements.
Educational Ministry Committee
In cooperation with the pastors
and the Director of Learning Ministries, the
Educational Ministry Committee
is responsible for organizing, promoting and supervising
learning ministry opportunities for all ages within the
congregation that are consistent with the teachings, principles
and practices of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
Evangelism Committee
Our Mission: Guided by the Holy Spirit, the
Evangelism Committee exists to share the love of Jesus with all
of God’s children, engaging them right where they are, and
encouraging them to join us as we continually grow into a
richer, deeper relationship with the One Who loves us most: our
Heavenly Father.
The
Evangelism Committee is responsible for nurturing, stimulating and leading members
of the congregation to strengthen and deepen their faith. The
committee also is responsible for leading our congregation in reaching out to the un-churched and seekers with the
Gospel, proclaiming Christ and inviting people into relationship
with Him.

Fellowship Team
Our mission: Following the example of
Christ, the Fellowship Team will promote an environment of
Christian hospitality that fosters opportunities to provide
fellowship, build strong relationships and encourage
discipleship.
The Fellowship Team is responsible
for congregation-wide social and fellowship activities.
The committee coordinates such fellowship activities as the
"Garden of Eatin'", the Thanksgiving dinner, the supper clubs,
the church picnic, the "Dinner and a Movie" events at Trinity,
family Advent wreath-making and supper and a variety of other
activities.

Finance
Committee
Our mission: The mission of the Finance
Committee is to oversee the financial affairs of the
Congregation to assure ongoing
support of the church's mission and ministry as directed by the
Congregation Council. This committee provides financial
counsel and support of all committees and staff in the use of
member's tithes and offerings.
The Finance Committee is responsible for the oversight of all
financial affairs of the congregation. All Funds are received,
processed, recorded and disbursed in accordance with policies
set forth and adopted through the Congregation Council.
The
Finance Committee is responsible for balancing projected
receipts against expenditures in order to maintain fiscal
integrity. This is done by working along with chairpersons of
all Trinity committees and with the committee liaisons to
Council. The committee oversees memorial gifts, the endowment
fund, capital campaigns, designated funds and board-designated
reserves, and works with committees to use these funds in
Trinity’s mission and
ministry. The committee also provides
information and reports to the congregation regarding the status
of Trinity’s financial gifts and their use.
Missions
Committee
The Missions Committee educates the
congregation about world hunger and other issues impacting
adequate nutrition, clean water and basic health care for all
persons on our planet, and advocates for policy change to assure
that all persons have access to adequate nutrition,
clean water and basic health care;
and serves as a liaison between the congregation and ELCA
–affiliated and other missionaries supported by the
congregation, and updates the congregation on the work of these
missionaries.
The committee carries out its functions of education and liaison
through:
- Bread Sunday, the sale of breads on the first Sunday of August, to
raise funds for
the ELCA World Hunger Appeal;
- An Offering of Letters Sunday in cooperation with Bread for the World;
- Financial support of the ELCA-affiliated and other missionaries
supported by the
congregation;
- Regular communication between the committee and the ELCA missionaries
supported
by the congregation;
- Articles in the parish newsletter and Sunday bulletin about the issues
listed above; and
- Other events as assigned by Congregation Council.
Parish
Ministry Committee
Our mission: As members of Parish Ministry we
act in Christian love and witness to faith in Christ as we
continually strive to serve the physical, emotional and
spiritual needs of Trinity members. We welcome all who
express a willingness to learn and help in any of these
ministries.
The Parish Ministry Committee is
responsible for assisting the pastors in promoting the general
welfare of the congregation and to assist the congregation in
responding to the needs of the sick, the infirm and the
suffering within the congregation.
Publicity and Communications Committee
Our mission: As the Publicity &
Communications committee, we are called to individually and
collectively share our gifts to daily promote God’s Word through
print, electronic media and word of mouth as it related to the
Mission of Trinity, our community of faith, and the local and
global community.
The Publicity and Communications Committee is responsible for
the internal and external communications of Trinity. The
committee is responsible for
the congregation's advertising in the newspaper and yellow pages
and has
oversight for the weekly bulletins, the Trinity Parish (our
congregation newsletter), the annual report, the congregation directory
and Trinity's
website at
www.trinitycamphill.org.
Social
Ministry Committee
Our mission: The Social Ministry Committee is
called to equip disciples at Trinity to minister to the needy
within Central Pennsylvania.
The Social Ministry Committee is
responsible for stimulating the congregation to a broadened
perspective of Christian social responsibility and for acting as
the enabling body for carrying out responsible social ministry
both within and outside the congregation. The committee
focuses on the needs of people in the Harrisburg and West Shore
regional area.
Stewardship Team
Our mission:
Recognizing Jesus’
command to "love one another" as one of the key determinates of
discipleship (John 13:35), the Stewardship Team seeks to promote
among Trinity’s members the adoption of a Christian lifestyle
through a selection of priorities that support the common good
through the effective management of time, talent, and treasure.
The Stewardship Committee is responsible for implementing a
year-round stewardship emphasis for the congregation. The
committee strives to
increase every member’s understanding of the theological and
biblical basis of stewardship of our time, our talent, and our
treasure. The committee's major emphasis is to communicate
to the congregation in a
consistent and frequent way the connection between our faith and
the blessings we have been given by God and how we as God's
people have an obligation to use our time, our talent, and our
treasure as a way of deepening our faith and to the Glory of
God.
Worship
Ministry Team
Our mission:
As the
congregation’s Worship Ministry Team, we are called throughout
the week, both within our building and in the community at large
to enable God’s children to live out the commandment to give
glory to God; to equip all of us through Word and Sacrament; and
to send all of us into the world as His disciples.
The Worship
Ministry Team,
in cooperation with the pastors, the Director of Music
Ministries and the Director of Music for Contemporary Worship,
is responsible for worship services and devotional aids to the
congregation that meet the diverse worship needs of the
congregation and are consistent with the liturgical worship
practices of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
Youth
Ministry Committee
The Youth Ministry Committee, in
cooperation with the Director of Youth Ministry, is responsible
for helping to guide each youth member of the congregation to a
more mature faith in Jesus Christ and to integrate Christianity
into the total life of each youth member.
