Angel Tree Ministry is a
program where congregations purchase and distribute
Christmas gifts to children of prison inmates in their
parents name. Angel Tree is a ministry of Prison
Fellowship. Prison Fellowship partners with local churches
across the country to minister to a group that society often
scorns and neglects: prisoners, ex-prisoners, and their
families. Prison Fellowship collects information from
participating inmates and distributes gift and family
contact information to participating churches.
The Angel Tree Ministry gifts
are collected as part of the giving tree items each year in
Gathering Space. Angel Tree tags are placed on the giving
tree with information as to the gift needs of the child and
related information such as sizes, gender and age. Trinity
members select an angel tree tag and purchase the gifts
listed on the tag. Gifts are collected at the angel tree
and then distributed to the local families of inmates along
with the gospel message.
As part of the giving tree
program, giving tree ornament tags are placed on the giving
tree for other ministries supported by the social ministry
committee, the missions committee and the parish ministry
committee. Gifts are purchased by Trinity members and then
distributed by committee members to the selected ministries.
