Parish Ministries

Prayer Concerns

  • Common prayers available for members

  • Emphasis for month

  • Special events

Every Member Prayer Ministry:

  • “Trinity members praying for Trinity members”

  • Prayer Partners make phone contact to weekly list of names

  • Partner prays that week for any concerns, needs or celebrations of members

  • Prayed for in prayers of church at services

  • All invited to pray for people on list

  • Weekly lists in Trinity Today and Trinity Parish

Lay Home Communion Ministry:

  • Assist Pastors who provide monthly communion “at home”

  • Pastors four times year, lay eight times year

Visitation Ministry:

  • Visits and phone calls to “at home” members not able to attend worship

  • Deliver tapes of services, Bible study and devotionals, altar flowers (poinsettias, lilies) cookies

Tape Ministry:

  • Tapes of worship and Bible Study (anyone may borrow)

Meal Ministry:

  • Organize luncheons/receptions at church for family of member at time of funeral or memorial service

Ministry to Grieving:

  • Trained lay ministers

  • Primary role – listener

  • Lay minister matched with member who needs support

College/Military Outreach:

  • Send birthday/graduation cards and regular mailings to members in military

Blood Pressure Screening:

  • First Sunday of every month

  • American Heart Association guidelines

CPR/AED & First Aid:

  • Training monthly

  • American Heart Association certification

Health Care Programs:

  • Provide special programs, e.g., breast self-awareness or prostate cancer

Blood Bank:

  • Cost free blood & blood components

  • Four times a year at Trinity

  • Central Pennsylvania Blood Bank

ELCA Vocation Candidacy:

  • Recommend eligible candidates for ELCA vocation registration and administer Trinity’s Education Loan Fund

Pastoral Benevolence Fund:

  • Participate in the coordination of the benevolence program as it relates to members of Trinity
