Trinity's Prison Ministry
involves a group that reaches out to those who are
incarcerated in the the Dauphin County Prison by
leading worship services six times a year on Sunday
afternoon or evening every other month. Participants are
required to fill out a simple identifying form which will
give us permission to visit the Prison. We sing, pray, read
scripture, listen to a sermon, and have communion together.
We sit among the worshipers so as to chat a little if it
seems appropriate. Right now we have about 15 members who
are certified to attend. We usually have a group of 5 to 8
who attend at any time.
Our reasons for being involved
in prison ministry are perhaps best illustrated through two
sermons, one from October 14, 2001 and one from November 20,
2005, preached by Pastor Nancy Easton. Links to MP3
audio versions of both sermons and to a print version of the
November 20, 2005 sermon are below.
