Vicar
Bill and his family (wife, April, son, Josh, and 2
cats) moved to Gettysburg in the late Summer of
2008, taking up residence on the seminary campus in
order for him to begin his coursework. They moved
from the Beaver Falls area, approximately 40 miles
northwest of Pittsburgh, PA.
Vicar Bill is a native Pittsburgher, being born and
raised in McKees Rocks, a suburb about 10 minutes
west of downtown Pittsburgh. April, originally born
in Missouri, moved with her family to Indiana prior
to settling in Beaver Falls. They met at a bank
where April was the Assistant Manager and Bill was a
customer.
Prior to entering seminary, Bill had a 19 year
career in the field of electrical design and
engineering for several consulting firms in the
Pittsburgh area. April has a background in banking
and, after spending several years as a stay-at-home
Mom, returned to the financial business in the realm
of credit unions, presently managing two branches.
Josh will be a Senior at Gettysburg Area High School
in the coming year. Together, they are researching
colleges that provide the opportunity for him to
pursue his interest in Marine Biology. In his spare
time, Josh trains in martial arts karate.
As a family, they have
been very active in the church. Vicar Bill was a
Lay Worship Leader in the Southwestern PA Synod.
April has been a Sunday School teacher and VBS
volunteer in the past. Josh has been active in the
youth groups of the churches they have been a part,
including attending local youth events and a mission
trip to Rockville, IL in 2006. |
