2008 Council
Mission: To encourage each member to find and act upon his
or her personal ministry by (1) identifying each member's
God-given gifts and (2) matching those gifts to the needs of
Trinity and its communities. |

Talent - Our Spiritual Gifts
Romans 12:4-8:
4For
as in one body we have many members, and not all the members
have the same function, 5so we, who are
many, are one body in Christ, and individually we are members
one of another. 6We have gifts that differ
according to the grace given to us: prophecy, in proportion to
faith; 7ministry, in ministering; the
teacher, in teaching; 8the exhorter, in
exhortation; the giver, in generosity; the leader, in diligence;
the compassionate, in cheerfulness.
What are the gifts that God has
blessed you with? The ELCA Spiritual Gifts Self-Assessment
will help you discern your God-given gifts. Click on the

Time - Matching
our God-given Gifts with the Needs of Trinity
and Its Communities
Matthew
28:19-20a:
19Go therefore and
make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the
Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20and
teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you.
Philippians
2:4: 4Let each of you look not to your
own interests, but to the interests of others.
Christ has called
each of us to be His disciples in the world. The links
below provide each of us with opportunities to use our
God-given gifts to meet the needs of Trinity and its
communities.

Tithes - Our Offerings
Malachi 3:10:
10Bring
the full tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be
food in my house, and thus put me to the test, says the
Lord of hosts; see if I will not
open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you an
overflowing blessing.
Mark 12:41-44:
41He
sat down opposite the treasury, and watched the crowd
putting money into the treasury. Many rich people put in
large sums. 42A poor widow came and
put in two small copper coins, which are worth a penny.
43Then he called his disciples and
said to them, “Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put in
more than all those who are contributing to the treasury.
44For all of them have contributed out
of their abundance; but she out of her poverty has put in
everything she had, all she had to live on.”
2 Corinthians 9:7:
7Each
of you must give as you have made up your mind, not
reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful
giver.
All that we have is from God. God asks only that we
return a portion, a tithe, to him in gratitude for all that
He has given us. A tithe, a tenth of our income, is
the minimum that God expects. The widow in Mark 12
gave all that she had.
Our tithes in response to God's love for us support
Trinity's ministries including our staff, our building, our
worship, our programs, and our outreach. Our Estimate
of Giving
forms are a record of our commitment to God and they aid
Trinity in its budget planning process. In making a
commitment through your Estimate of Giving, you have the option of using a
paper Estimate of
Giving Form
available each year as part of Stewardship Sunday or using
our on-line Estimate of
Giving Form.
In addition to traditional giving through weekly offering
envelopes, a variety of automatic, recurring giving options
are available. Through Simply Giving, Thrivent
Financial subsidizes a portion of the cost of automatic, recurring
bank withdrawals and automatic, recurring credit card
contributions.

Many banks and credit
unions offer bill payer and direct withdrawal options.
The following are ones that have been identified as
having services that provide for automatic, recurring or
one time contributions. If your institution
provides these services, please provide us with the
necessary information and we'll add them to the list.
