O women of Jerusalem
Weep for all

For innocence is cut this day
Hatred, fear, rage, and sin
Strike away what stood
Slice the head, remove the heart

Slaughtering all

Lord,

Speak to us
That we might hear the love through pain,
The bitterness of prophecy
And its tempering
That yet may promise
Better change
     for us and ours.
