Paul Hensel is retiring as Trinity’s Director of Finance effective this August. He has served 19 years here, starting in June 2003.
His church ministry work actually spans 34 years. Prior to Trinity, he was the business administrator for churches in Mechanicsburg, Mountville, and Ephrata.
What people may not know is that Paul is a seminary graduate and former pastor. He earned a Master of Divinity degree in 1980 from Western Evangelical Seminary, Portland, OR, and subsequently served three years as the pastor of a church near Buffalo, NY. It was at that church where he married his fiancée, Janet. They’ve been married 40 years and have two adult children, Stephen and Erin.
Paul enjoys reading, camping, watching movies, and traveling. He expects to spend his retirement years pursuing these activities, and he also plans to seek a part-time job “to keep busy.” In fact, his father—a retired pastor himself—worked until his 90s and lived until age 97.
Paul has especially liked working with the staff and volunteers. “I have good memories of serving in ministry here at Trinity. It’s been fulfilling to spend time with many of you planning and working to ensure that our finances and facilities allow the best possible ministry opportunities.
Watch for ways to celebrate Paul’s retirement and his service to Trinity.
