Volunteer at the Trinity Family Picnic
Celebration Sunday – May 20
Immediately following late services

We need your help to make this picnic a success!  Many volunteer opportunities are available on Saturday and Sunday. We also are in need some small donations of candy and supplies for kids games. There will also be a cake walk.  We are encouraging everyone to bring a home made or store bought cake.  Please make sure it is in a disposable dish.  All donations should be brought to the church office by Friday, May 18th.  Cakes for the cake walk should be brought to the Kitchen on Sunday, May 20th.

Day of Feeding: Make a special offering TODAY to support our Synod’s Hunger Initiatives

A food-packing event will be held as part of the June 2018 Lower Susquehanna Synod Assembly. Food will be boxed and sent to the Caribbean, where hurricanes have caused great destruction.

In the meantime, the Synod is asking its congregations to contribute toward the $75,000 cost of this event.

Use the blue envelopes in the pews
Make checks payable to Trinity
Label your donation as “Day of Feeding”
Your contributions are needed now, and no later than April 1. In addition, you can volunteer to help at the Day of Feeding event on Saturday, June 2, at Messiah College. Watch for more information about how to register. The event is part of the 2018 Synod Assembly, where the overall theme is “Eradicating Hunger One Relationship at a Time.” Together, we will feed others as we have been fed by Christ.

ELCA Youth Gathering

“By grace you have been saved…” Ephesians 2:8  –  this is the theme of this year’s ELCA National Youth Gathering. Our youth are going to dig deep into this fundamental part of the Lutheran faith when they travel to Houston this summer. They are going to dig deep into service projects. And we asking you to continue to dig deep with your financial support of the costs of this trip! Take a look at this video, created by Max Hahn (youth going on the Houston trip) and be reminded that we have some pretty spectacular young people in our church!
To learn more about this year’s Gathering theme, check out the event website at https://www.elca.org/YouthGathering/About/Theme. When you read what’s written, you’re going to want to go to Houston too!

Box Top$ and UPC Codes for Education

Box Top$ and UPC Codes for Education needed. Trinity is continuing to collect box tops to benefit several Harrisburg elementary schools. Accepted box tops have the “Box Tops for Education” logo and are located at the top or side of boxes from a variety of manufacturers including Betty Crocker, General Mills, Scott Paper, and more. UPC labels and box tops should be placed in the pink Campbell’s tin box on the table located to the left of the Gathering Space main entrance door. Sheets containing a list of accepted product box tops are available on that table.

Volunteer during Worship Services!

Come on down to the Faith Formation Fun Factory and join our crew!

Many volunteers are needed for Registration, Video Tech and Crew Leaders.   All you need is a love for kids, God and a willingness to share your faith with kids every week!  Our leaders don’t need to know all the answers, rather they are here to walk alongside Trinity children and families in the faith journey of life. Click here to learn more and to register!

Serve with our Friends of Jesus (F.O.J.)

The theme of our Sr. High Faith Formation class this year is “Service.”  As a part of this class, they will be serving around the church monthly.  All students grades 9 – 12 are invited to join our class and take part in all service opportunities.  Click here to learn more about the class.

Check out all of the good work and fun times we had in New Orleans.

This Summer, 13 members of our High School Youth Group along with 3 advisors spent a week in New Orleans to help with various mission projects. All of the work was being done to continue to help the city rebuild after Hurricane Katrina, which occured nearly 12 years ago. Watch the video to learn more about their experience.

Join Trinity’s tutoring teams!

Trinity Tutors work in elementary schools in Harrisburg. Investing only one hour a week to help a child practice reading, math, and communication in a one-on-one session yields so many benefits for both children and tutors. More info? Call Maggie Ackerman at 717-790-9345 or Holly Frymoyer at 717-576-5964.

Social Ministry Team

Our Social Ministry team is responsible for stimulating the congregation to have a broadened perspective of our Christian social responsibility both within and outside of the congregation.  The team focuses on the needs of the people in the Harrisburg and West Shore Regional Areas. Click here to see a list of the Ministries that we support. If you are interested in volunteering for any of these ministries, please contact us!

Missions Ministry Team

The Missions Team strives to stimulate our congregation to a worldwide perspective of Christ’s call to love and serve others. The team works to educate Trinity members so that we all share a vision of mission which spreads the Gospel, feeds the hungry, advocates for the powerless, responds to disasters, trains new leaders for ministry, and works in accompaniment with Christians around the world. Our primary focus is with Lutheran ministries, especially those of the ELCA and its partners in ministry.
