Every three years, thousands of high school youth and their adult leaders from across the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America gather for a week of faith formation known as the ELCA Youth Gathering. Through days spent in interactive learning, worship, Bible study, service and fellowship, young people grow in faith and are challenged and inspired to live their faith in their daily lives. Trinity invites all students in grades 9-12 to join them for this awesome experience. This year’s gathering will be held in New Orleans on July 16 – 20.
Important Details:
Dates: July 15 – July 21, 2024 (Includes travel days before and after the gathering.)
Cost: $570 + spending money for things while your child is in New Orleans (i.e. tipping at hotels, offering during the gathering, souvenirs, etc.) The $570 will cover the $150 registration fee (due immediately) and meals during the trip ($420 due upon departure of the trip.) The additional expenses – transportation, hotels, gathering – will be covered by Trinity.
Transportation: We will be flying to New Orleans as a group. Once we are there we will be renting a van to get around the city. All of this is covered in the cost of the trip.
Hotels: We will be staying together in a hotel in downtown New Orleans. Hotels are assigned by the ELCA once they have our initial registrations. Rooms may occupy up to 4 children, chaperones will not be sharing rooms with children.
In order to secure a spot for your child, we need two things:
- The completed registration form. You may use the online form below or click here to download a copy and return to Moses Kavishe in the church office.
- Pay the $150 registration fee. If you submit the form online, you will be directed to the online payment page. You may also send a check for registration fees to the church office: Trinity Lutheran Church, 2000 Chestnut Street, Camp Hill, PA 17011. Please note “youth gathering” and your child’s name in the memo line of the check.
